The Gift of Jesus

JPEG.Gift is Jesus

At Christmas, the world focuses on gifts under the tree. But the greatest gift was never wrapped in paper. He was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger.

Scripture Anchor

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)

This prophecy declared centuries before Christ’s birth reminds us: Jesus is not just a baby in a manger—He is King, Savior, and Lord.

The Word in Depth

John 1:14 says: “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” The incarnation means God stepped into humanity, not to condemn, but to redeem.

The names listed in Isaiah 9:6 reveal His character:

  • Wonderful Counselor — wisdom for every decision.
  • Mighty God — power over every enemy.
  • Everlasting Father — love without end.
  • Prince of Peace — calm for every storm.

Sherelle’s Thoughts

“Christmas is not just tradition—it’s revelation. Release the distractions of the season. Reframe Christmas as Christ-centered. Reconnect with the wonder of Emmanuel—God with us.”

Framework applied:

  1. Release — Lay down stress, shopping, and seasonal pressure.
  2. Reframe — Make Jesus the center of every celebration.
  3. Reconnect —
  4. Spend time in worship and gratitude for the gift of salvation.

Practical Application

  • Read the Christmas story (Luke 2:1–20) with your family.
  • Write a personal prayer of gratitude for Jesus as your greatest gift.
  • Choose one way to give generously this season as a reflection of His love.

Reflection Questions

  1. What distractions often overshadow Christ in my Christmas season?
  2. How can I reframe the holiday as a celebration of Jesus, not just tradition?
  3. What is one way I can share the gift of Jesus with others?

Prevail Declaration

“Jesus is my greatest gift. I release distractions. I reframe this season as worship. I reconnect with Emmanuel, God with us. I will prevail NOW.”
